What do we do?

Acupuncture Treatment

Acupuncture treatment is a traditional Chinese medicine mainly used to relieve stress, pain and overall wellness.

We mainly try to focus on individuals who are experiencing pain or even chronic pain. This includes headaches, sciatica (pain going down the lower back, hips, buttocks, and each leg), osteoarthritis (most frequent in the hands, hips, and knees), neuritis (affecting the nerves found outside the brain and spinal cord), facial pains and many more.

We also provide this treatment to those who have:

  • Neck problems

  • Shoulder pain/discomfort

  • Lower back aches/pains

  • Joint issues

How it works

Process of the treatment

The first step to this treatment is inserting the needle into the area of pain, there are around 5-20 needles that are inserted into the body at different positions and depths. It may cause discomfort at first, however it will loosen up momentarily. After this step we will either gently twirl the needle after application into the body or apply heat or electrical pulses to the needles as shown in the image below, this is called needle manipulation. Lastly the needles are removed however, some will remain to sit in the spot for around 10-15 minutes while the patient relaxes.

Ensure you make notice of any bleeding disorders, pregnancy or pacemakers as these can affect the process of treatment.Be aware of any risks that can occur during treatment and after:

  • Bleeding, bruising and soreness

  • Unsterilized needles

  • Possible needle breakage
